BACK IN THE SADDLE

Semi-darkness enveloped the room, casting long shadows on the wooden furniture, and obscuring the features of the two men lying next to each other in the wide Queen bed.  The shorter of the two curled closer to his husband, running his hand along the other man’s bare chest, feeling the muscles tense beneath the skin.  “Do you want to try?” he whispered, blue eyes glinting in the half light as he looked up longingly at his husband, praying the answer would be yes.  Henley sighed, and ran a hand through his dark hair, staring intently at the wall. “I…I don’t know, Love,” he answered, sounding uncertain and shaky.  “What if…what if I can’t…” he didn’t finish his sentence, but let it hang in the air, falling flat into the darkness. “Well, we can cross that bridge when we come to it,” replied Alex, sitting up.  “Besides, remember what the doctor said.  Everyone’s different.  You have to find what works and what doesn’t.  I know it’s frightening,...
